Here’s the thing: 20 is still in college age. 22+ is no longer in college age. That’s a big divide, experientially speaking.
I agree with Anna. Plus, I mean, can’t drink. WAIT. WAIT. INVITE HIM OUT AND HE CAN BE THE DD.
Thank you guys. I was feeling like I was being really weird about it, but I just COULD NOT, and really the difference in experiences is why. I feel like so much happens so fast in your early twenties that even small age differences like that matter a lot. All I could think was, “Jesus, do you know what it’s like to pay bills? To worry about making rent? OH GOD YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT IT’S LIKE TO DRINK LEGALLY IN PUBLIC. AND IF THERE’S EVER A TIME WHEN YOU WANT TO DRINK ILLEGALLY, I DO NOT WANT TO BE INVOLVED IN THAT SHIT.”
So, yeah. Anyway. It’s nice to know that I’m not being weird, because I spoke with someone about it afterward and they didn’t really seem to understand why I felt awkward about the whole experience.
Also: DYING at Sarcasm. WE ARE FOREVER IN NEED OF A DD SO WE CAN ALL GET DRUNK TOGETHER.
